Let's Start
Over the years customers have asked me many questions... "How do I pick out a rug?" "What do I look for?" "Where do I start with colors & designs that will look good in my home?" "What size rug do I need?"

I've been buying beautiful area rugs for over 20 years, but I realize that as a customer it may be your first time. Though it seems tricky, it's not! I've outlined a simple thought process which will take you through the steps of collecting your ideas & materials that will make selecting the perfect rug for your home EASY!

Area rugs can complement your unique style as well as provide functional comfort to a room. As you start the rug selection process, keep in mind how you will use the room. Be it formal, casual or cozy? Any food, kids or pets present?

World of Rugs goal is to creatively combine your lifestyle needs with your aesthetic tastes in placing rugs that contribute to the overall beauty of your home.

We are your partners in this process.

Step by Step
I. Imagine
Consider the floor your room's "5th wall", a large space to present a visual accent which captures your personality and your home's style. Not content with your current surroundings? By adding a rug you can completely alter the mood of any room with even small changes of color. Create drama with a color contrasting pattern. Do you have wood, stone or tile floors? By adding a rug with texture you can add comfort, warmth and get a little echo relief. Would you like to highlight a special area? Try changing the shape or size of a rug. For instance a round rug can further define a round table or a gathering area, these simple options are endless.
II. Gather
Start collecting fabric swatches, colorful pillows, paint chips, tile or wood samples, tear out magazine pages of room settings that inspire you, find items that have the look or feeling of what you want to create in your home. Record the dimensions of your entire room. Now measure out a minimum & maximum area that you'd like to see a rug cover. My favorite tip for all you techies, simply snap a picture with your digital camera or cell phone and SHOW US! Lastly, your can print out our At-Home Worksheet, fill-in the blanks and bring it to the store when you are ready to shop!
